About TLHS
Who’s in TLHS?
TLHS has greatly grown and matured and is now in its ninth year with the class of 2010 on board! The class of 2010 joins thousands of Tufts students who have participated and continue to come back year after year. The first class of the TLHS study graduated in 2002 and many of these alumni were with TLHS for all four years—congratulations and thank you! TLHS will continue to follow the classes of 2007–2010 through their Tufts years, which will add to all that we have learned already!
What they do!
The first thing they do is fill out the Health Behavior Survey that we sent to their home in the summer before freshman year. The TLHS is a longitudinal study, which means we’re interested in how the college experience affects students, their physical and emotional health, the attitudes, knowledge and perceptions that affect lifestyle choices, and their lifestyle. To see how things change, each April, TLHS participants meet with us for an Assessment Day. Find out more about the Assessments!
Why we need you!
In order to make Tufts the best campus for students, we need to know what the average student does and is. Think you’re not the healthiest eater? That’s no reason to avoid us. We need to know what you’re doing and why. Maybe you couldn’t care less about diet, health, and all that touchy feely stuff? We don’t discriminate. All we ask is that you hang out with us for an hour a year, eat our food, and win some great prizes. You’ll benefit now and so will we. And together, we will make Tufts the best campus for students to be.
So Join Us!
Participating in the TLHS is more than a chance to learn about yourself, its an opportunity to contribute to this university in a way that endures beyond your graduation.
